Today after Sean got home from work, we took a special trip to target to get her a leotard and skirt for her ballet class. She of course didn't want the standard black leo and pink skirt. She chose the purple Leo and the mutil colored blue, pink, and red skirt. I could have said, "no emma this is what you are suppose to pick" but why? Why make her be like everyone else? She's not like everybody else, she her own person and with her own personality and her own will. I didn't want to crush any of that. After we paid, we stopped at Starbucks and shared a strawberries and cream frappacino. It was such a special moment! We each had our own straws and she was soaking every min of not having to share me in!, and I was soaking every min of just having her in. We talked about what it meant to be kind to one another. We talked about how you can be kind to those you know and those you don't know. She said that it would be kind if we gave flowers to people who were sick! I was so touched by her response. This little girl, finding out who she is and always caring for others was blossoming right in front of me! After all the whipped cream was spooned out with our straws we threw away what remained of our once shared drink and got into the car to go home. I looked in my rearview mirror and saw my smart, caring, independent, and beautiful girl singing some Frozen song to herself and giggling a few rows back. Suddenly, time was standing still and she stopped growing up, just for that short trip home!

Growing up so fast!
Yesterday and today, I saw Emma growing up right before my eyes! Yesterday, we took her to an eye specialist to get a second opinion on the treatment for her eye turn. She was so amazing the whole time! It was a 2.5 hour exam and it couldn't have gone better! I realized that even in the short 10 months since her last examination, she has matured so much. What happened to my little girl ? When did she grow so fast?
